Korean Food: Leann’s Tea House

May 21, 2014, was our eighth wedding anniversary. It was also the scheduled Korean lunch date, with the moms from Mommy Bloggers Philippines. So what better way to celebrate and participate, -combine work with leisure.

While my husband and son, sat on the far end of the restaurant. I had to go, to and fro, between tables.

Most especially, when, I had to bring half, of this heavenly dessert to my son.

Paradise Passion: this toothsome dessert is an exciting match to a peppery Korean feast

My son also enjoyed his Acapulco Breeze drink

Our Korean feast was provided by Leann’s teahouse. It is an authentic Korean restaurant, situated along Mother Ignacia Street, in Quezon City.

Apparently, one of the owners married a Korean national. Her mother-in-law spent a few weeks, in the country, to train the staff in preparing, original palatable Korean dishes.

Our hostess, Jiselle Chua, together with the staff, made sure we were all, well taken care of. It was a complete Korean dining-experience.

Our table, was a sight to behold, as appetizing Korean dishes were placed on it, one after the other.

The table was set with various appetizers to choose from.

BIBIMBAP RICE

It was a spicy kick-start for me, after having tried their flavorful Bibimbap rice.

Bibimpap rice, I gather, is rice mixed with small portions of meat and vegetables. It is served with a spicy paste.

HAMEUL JEON
Next was the palatable, Hameul Jeon or seafood pancake. It is, as the name suggests, a pancake-like dish, which is a mixture of a variety of seafood and spring onions.
( which unfortunately I was not able to take a picture of )

GALBI

A favorite of mine, would be the succulent grilled meat or the galbi. It is barbecued beef short ribs. My son, who is not exactly a fan of beef, enjoyed every bit of the rib. The rib was grilled just enough, -for the juices and the marbling of the meat, to come out right.

It is tender to the bite. ( kids would love this) It topped the pleasurable Korean dish experience.

DOENJANG JJIGAE

The other dishes that I enjoyed was of course, the soup, or the Seafood Doenjang Jjigae, a Korean Seafood Soy Bean Paste Stew. Its flavorful aroma could reach right into the palette.

TONKATSU KIMBAP

The mouth-watering Tonkatsu Kimbap, is one dish you would love to try in the restaurant. It is tasty fried meat cutlets, in rice rolls.

SHABU-SHABU

No Asian meal is, without a hot-pot, so last but not least, was a savory stock of their version of Shabu-shabu.

Theirs was a Korean hot-pot meal, with slices of meat, meatballs and egg. We had the option, to choose between a mildly spiced soup or the real spicy one.

I settled for the milder one.

It was a great day to be with family and moms like myself, on a special day and a special feast.
