My brother Vito’s wife, Frances Mae took B.S. Food Management Major in Food Service at O.B. Montessori.
My brother, a Civil Engineer, also loves to cook. I do remember him, when he was younger, he would be cooking scrambled eggs, while mixing it with other ingredients. (sometimes with honey or milk or tomato or whatever edible ingredient, he fancied)
Today, on instagram, I see the couple, post pictures of sumptuous dishes, they prepare for each other:
All these food pictures brought me back to their wedding last year.
You see, one of the dish and some of the dessert, served during their wedding, all came from the bride’s recipes. The groom, the bride and the bride’s family placed some “personal touches” on the wedding preparation.
So, four months ago, last December 2014, my family went on a road trip, to attend our brother’s wedding in Zambales. It was also a three-day vacation, for the family.
By family that would mean the entire Banaag family. My Dad, my Mom and my siblings and their respective families.
My parents, my sister and her family, came all the way from CdeO. My brother-in-law and two brothers from abroad, arrived in Manila, all for the wedding of our brother, Vito.
It was the journey getting to Zambales that I cherish the most. We travelled on two private vehicles, a van and an innova- which is telling of the large family we have.
We stayed at Dawal Beach Resort in Zambales.
On the eve of the wedding, the family, relatives and guests were greeted with a luau dinner.

My sister-in-law Mae, also has a very supportive family. Her sisters, April ( a busy work at home mom of Huna-Huna Handmade Things and Toys) and Ibet (a busy lawyer) still found time to help her in the wedding preparations:

These jars were decorated, with tiny green ribbons and were given away to their guests.

My sister-in-law, Mae was a picture of radiance on her wedding day. You would not think she had time to cook or bake, days before her wedding.
Since the resort was after all owned by her Uncle ( her Mom’s brother), she had the hotel staff of Dawal Beach Resort help her in the preparation of the dessert, while using her recipes.
She presented her guests with this mouth-watering dessert station.

Hi, I enjoyed reading your articles. I will going back to the Philippines after a long while for a class reunion(50. Years!) in January next year. I also have a son and a daughter who are getting married in 2018 and 2019. They want me to wear a Filipina dress? Last time I was in Divisoria, there were no malls. That’s how long I have been away. It gave me ideas on where to get my ternos while I’m there. Thank you very much!!! Any suggestions for “give aways” that won’t be too bulky to take back to California?
