When Two Or Three Gather In His Name…

Two years ago, my doctor detected around three to four small nodules in both my breasts and she called them fibrocystic.

Thus, constant monitoring every six months was needed so that should changes occur, it would be easily noted.

But last week, I had to go through another ultrasound because it seemed like, one nodule felt bigger and lumpier.

AND THE REST OF MY LIFE FLASHED BEFORE ME.

” Terrified ” would be an understatement.

While the ultrasound result was forwarded to the doctor,

I forwarded my cares to the Lord.

So when trials of these kind come my way, I honestly do these things:

  1. Pray and pick up my rosary beads and go to church.

  2. Talk, call or text my family and ask all of them to pray for me.

My husband, my mom, my dad and my siblings, all eight of them.

I would usually say ” Pinakakusgan ninyo na pag ampo please.”
( ” the most powerful prayer, you could offer please.”)

  1. Immediately inform my Lola Inday, so she would readily go to mass, offer my intentions and start praying with her sisters in her house.
  2. Text my cousins and relatives, especially my Aunts, Auntie Mely, Auntie Judy, Auntie Emmie and Auntie Adjing to pray for me.

  3. Inform my bestfriend Iris, she readily prays for me.

  4. Inform my closest friends since gradeschool. ( Marica, Joy and Trixie.)

  5. Call or text my girlfriends to pray for me. ( I may text Dara, Gibby, Kizzy, Alma or Mitchiko.)

  6. And yes, post on Facebook.

And ask all 300 to 400 friends including friends of friends, to say a little prayer for my intentions.

I do post my life on facebook and I do broadcast my worries there, alright.

But I do not have qualms about that.

I just remember the saying, ” share the joy and divide the sorrows.”

And I always think that those little prayers, no matter how small, they all go up to the Lord.

I really hold on to His Words, that should two or three come together in His Name, He will be there.

As He always would.

I remember as little children, we siblings say the rosary and pray together in front of our altar.

We would also ask our Lola Inday in Catarman, Camiguin and her sisters my Lola Edy and Lola Maron to do a ” Sto. Niño ” for us.

They hold a prayer activity at my grandmother’s house and pray for all the intentions of the family and offer it to Sto. Niño.

In U.P., I was part of the Friday Encounter Group which met every Friday. We offered prayers together.

And when I joined the Emmanuel Community in Greenbelt Catholic Church, I was part of the ministry where we prayed for other people.

As prayer warrior, I would feel the Lord’s presence as I sincerely prayed for other people’s hopes, worries, health and family.

My family, friends and loved ones are my prayer warriors just as I am theirs.

My sister Mirzi, prayed the rosary for me during and after my test.

My bestfriend Iris, as always, prayed for me.

My friend Mitch who is in Dubai sent me back a powerful prayer and told me I have a prayer warrior with her.

My friend Iyah in SG said, ” all will be well in God’s name.”

And all others texted and messaged me that they are praying with me.

My friend since gradeschool, Marica, ( who had her hands full already with two children and a house to run,) asked me over the phone that she would like to accompany me to wherever church I would go,
without me even asking her.

She literally adopted me the whole afternoon.

Her house, her driver and her car.

We reminisce on friendship that span years.

We talk about eating healthy and living longer as gifts to our children.

We talked about the time she taught me the importance on why I should have my eyebrows thread.

Or how my hair needs to be styled.

And of course how she combed our other friend’s hair.

We called up our other gradeschool friends Joy and Trixie.

We ate a feast and drowned my worries in a cup of coffee.

And I borrowed hugs from her mom -Nanay.

But most importantly she prayed with me, like my worries seemed like hers already, in these two beautiful churches:

  1. Sto. Domingo Church

  1. Our Lady Of Lourdes

And chose a really nice beautiful ( rose scented ) rosary for me:

Prayers alone are powerful, for all prayers lead to heaven.

But add up all those prayers from family, friends, loved ones and
” netizens “,

then that would be one big positively charged prayer that would certainly please God.

So in other words, my tests turned well.

What was thought of as a big mass were still the same fibrocystic ones detected from two years ago.

It was just, the two cysts appeared like one big mass that time, when felt by the doctor.

And they are in fact too small for surgery.

No surgeon would operate on them.

And of course continued monitoring and prayers remain.

I still have some little fears when going to the doctor.

But I know I have prayer warriors around who believes.

I truly say, ” There is strength in numbers.”

And when someone calls, texts, posts on the net, ” Please pray for me.”,

PLEASE DO.

You will not only be a blessing to the people close to you

BUT

You have taken part in the armoury of the Lord, where prayer defeats all troubles, worries and problems.

; You are priveleged to be a soldier on God’s side.
