A Weekend In Baguio City

LAST WEEKEND ( at my husband’s prodding),I decided to join my mom and my five “unmarried” siblings to Baguio City. (while the married ones, like my brother, was in SG and my sister, in CdeOC, and my dad in Camiguin. )

Notwithstanding the fact that I marvelled at the sixteen to twenty degree celsius cold front in Manila. So, going up to the City of Pines meant, ” Hi my name is Olaf and I like warm hugs.” I was Cool Runnings and Jamaica rendezvous-ing with Canada.”

Pray tell, which part of the bedroom showcase, -of the home world section , did I fail to bring with me?

We invaded Baguio City right after the opening of the city’s Panagbenga or the annual Flower Festival.

It was strange seeing my mom watching the parade.

Things seem to be on reverse now. My mom kept on craning her neck and tugging our hands, while saying, ” didto ta ‘day, or ‘dong – as she afforded herself some vantage point.

Incidentally, we have to thank the artist and stand up comedian ” Attack “ who obliged in taking our family picture.

( the only decent family picture we had in Baguio City )

With the previous travel time to Baguio City, now reduced to half, there is no reason why we should not be going up there again, is there?

( I was surprised to find myself in Baguio City just after a five hour trip from Manila.)

*February 22, marks the end of Baguio’s month-long Panagbenga Festival. The highlight will include the grandiose float parade and the spectacular street dance.

Maybe you would like to go up there and take a breather from Tara sa condo errr, Baguio… Be super bowled -over with Baguio, “sa ibabaw ng mga prutas.”

I’ve been to Baguio a couple of times but have never seen Panagbenga. I bet super lamig nung nagpunta kayo. People in Baguio are really so nice, one of the things that my husband and I fell in love with in this place 🙂

Hi Camille! Yep, it was. (super cold) Opposite ng mga tao naman, na super warm.
It was just the opening ng Panagbenga…but they say this Feb 22 would be the highlight of the month long event -with the floats and street dance.
You and your husband can still watch Panagbenga,:)
